IAF helicopter forced to land in Jodhpur after unexpected glitch
On Sunday afternoon, a technical issue forced an IAF helicopter carrying 20 airmen from Jodhpur airbase to Phalodi airbase to make an emergency landing in Lohawat area of Jodhpur.
However, a team of technicians was able to resolve the problem, resulting in a one-hour delay before the helicopter could resume its journey to its intended destination.
As per Badri Prasad, the Circle Inspector of Lohawat Police Station, two Mi-17 helicopters from the Indian Air Force had departed from Jodhpur air force station and were en route to Phalodi air force station.
The inspector said, ‘About 2:30 p.m. one of the helicopters developed some technical glitch and resorted to emergency landing in village Pilwa.’
After making an emergency landing in the Lohawat area of Jodhpur, the helicopter carrying 20 airmen onboard was quickly surrounded by curious villagers. The airmen disembarked and secured the chopper, while the police were alerted to the situation and arrived on the scene to assist the chopper team and manage the crowd.
