Viral CGI Video, Chinese J-11 Fighters Shoot Down Indian Mirage 2000
The Chinese microblogging platform Weibo is currently circulating a video that portrays a hypothetical scenario of an Indian Air Force attack on China while the latter is occupied with annexing Taiwan.
The video, which uses computer-generated imagery (CGI), depicts a fierce dogfight between Indian and Chinese fighter jets over a snow-covered mountainous terrain. The Chinese J-11 fighter jets are shown downing Indian Air Force Mirage 2000 jets, and a Chinese warplane destroys an Indian MiG-21 aircraft with a missile. At one minute and twenty seconds into the video, a Chinese KJ-2000 AWACS aircraft is depicted providing situational awareness to the Chinese fighter jets and identifying hostile activities. The video concludes with the Indian Rafale fighter jet firing an air-to-air missile, but the final outcome of the dogfight remains unknown as the video ends abruptly. The CGI film also emphasises that China is cautious about its impending attack on Taiwan and considers various factors, including the possibility of foreign intervention. Chinese President Xi Jinping's remarks at the Communist Party Congress in October, where he was elected for a third term, have heightened tensions by emphasising China's intention to control the self-governed island and retain the right to use force.
