While Pakistan Struggles with Economic Crisis, Army Officers Enjoy Exclusive Golf Courses
Khalid Umar, a well-known British-Pakistani barrister, recently criticised the luxurious lifestyle and exclusive privileges enjoyed by the country's top military generals while Pakistan faces the risk of collapse. Umar shared a series of pictures depicting a golf course solely reserved for military officers, which is one of the 200 military elite exclusive golf courses, each covering 1900 acres of land. He also pointed out that a single golf club costs more than the monthly wage of a labourer. "This is the General's Pakistan on the brink of a formal declaration of default," he wrote on Twitter. Umar's comments echo the sentiments of many Pakistanis who feel that there are two groups of people in their troubled country, with one group enjoying all the benefits while the other suffers.
