Northern Ireland Conflict
This sectarian conflict, spanning from the late 1960s to 1998, involved mainly Protestant unionists (who wanted to remain part of the UK) and Catholic nationalists (who wanted to join a united Ireland). While also political, the conflict had a strong sectarian dimension.
