Storm-Z Squads

Hundreds of military and civilian offenders have been deployed as part of Russian penal units known as Storm-Z and sent to fight in the Ukraine war. The penal units are about 100-150 strong and embedded with regular Russian army units but typically sent to the most exposed part of the front and often sustain disproportionate losses.
